Hi Ralph,
I hope you are doing well down there in San Diego.
A couple of months ago, I received notice about eBay’s Managed Payments program effective October 15th.
They said that if I want to continue to sell on eBay, that it is required that I enroll in this program.
One of these changes is that eBay require your Social Security Number to be on file.
I watched a couple of YouTube videos on the subject and I am not happy with the mandatory changes.
Scammers have taken advantage of the loose Return Policy to scam sellers out of their items at no cost.
Once a buyer opens a return request, the money for the item is frozen by eBay with PayPal until resolution. This sometimes takes up to 30 days.
If you transfer your money out of PayPal after sales like I do, then your eBay account will be frozen until funds matching the item’s cost plus shipping is returned back into this account and is locked until settlement.
Since October 15th, I have stopped selling on eBay.
After over 10 years of paying high fees and dealing with the many changes and adjustments, I am taking a break until next year. No fun selling on eBay anymore.
I will continue to make sales and purchases outside of eBay as usual.
I hope this helps.
Stay safe and Best regards,
Gene of South San Francisco
