Hello all! I am new, I enjoy collecting gold and silver coins, but was never really introduced to strikers. After a few divorces and several moves, I found some items in one of my boxes, which apparently came from two of my three casino frequenting ex-husbands!
I have a bunch of the .999 silver strikers from the old Casino Rouge (they are the ones with the silver center and gold or brass edge). My ex tells me they were $10 coins, but there is no face value printed on them. The only problem I see is that the capsules are damaged on several, and a couple of the coins have a little tarnish, but that is to be expected with silver. I am sure they would clean up great. From the Hollywood Classics collection, I have:
--Laurel & Hardy
--Groucho
--Humphrey Bogart
--Bette Davis
--Marilyn Monroe
--John Wayne
--Clark Gable
--WC Fields
From the New Orleans collection, I have:
--Bourbon street
--King of Carnival
--Mardi Gras
--Jazz Musician (Sax Player)
--French Quarter
I also have 4 boxed sets from Grand Casino in MS (I think they were bought in Gulfport). Those are the smaller clad coins. I have the 1995-96 Gulf Coast Series, 1996-97 Gulf Coast Series.....which is a duplicate of one of the 1997 series. I have two different 1997 series.
I really have NO IDEA what these are really worth, but I REALLY need to offload some excess items that I have. I am open to offers, and will take pics if anyone is interested (would probably be best to take the Casino Rouge token out of the capsules, since the capsules are damaged (cracked and or scratched). I have taken a couple out to look at them and they are in excellent condition. I would love to see these go to a true striker collector so they can be appreciated!
