Hey Paul,
I know when I scrap strikes I take them to the local coin shop. Not that they wouldn't believe me they just will not take the rims with silver in them because they wouldn't know how much is in them and they are not going to take the time to look it up or take the time to text each rim. They will take the brass rims. It's just not worth their time to try and get so many for the refinery. Not to many people in town collect strikes or scrap them for that matter. Sure a few come in now and then but not worth the trouble to get a load.
What about the mintage?
