Hey Guys, why wouldn't the silver count, just because it's inconvenient to refine? It has to count if it's really there. If the rims weigh .6 and there is .21% silver, then by the time you add up the silver in all 4 rims of the set, it's about a half ounce of silver.... or the same as a red cap made today.
According to my refiner, it's no big deal to refine 20% silver out of that mix UNLESS someone sends just the 4 rims and expects to make money. But if they are running hundreds of them, it's still profitable. So don't melt the rims with silver unless you have a bunch lol
I think I have one extra $10 size. I'll try to find it and sacrifice it for the answer. I'll have my refiner run the rim separate from the center and if we can make the assumption all the $10 size have the same compostion
