Many "old-timers" will recall that when silver prices were low, we could not get face value for many of these issues "back in the day". As a result, many of these strikes were turned in at the cashier's cages around town for face value .... and many of those that were not turned in were sold for melt value when silver prices went up. So your question of how many were made, becomes a moot point. The more important question is "how many exist today"? Answer; Nobody really knows.
