Walt; You are referring to a period in the club's history when had Chapters and the Silver Strike Club was a chapter of along with several other clubs. The club's long-time legal counsel, Eric Rosenblum, advised the club officers at that time that because of legal liabilities and ramifications that should not continue to have chapters anymore because all members of local clubs did not hold membership in and as a result, ALL Chapters were disolved and they became independent clubs ... including the Silver Strike Club. It has been that way for many years now.
Now that is doing business as DBA/ CCA, (Casino Collectibles Association) it should be even more appealing to Silver Strikers to support . Yes, one has to be a member to vote on all club related activities, including OTY. But doesn't the Silver Strikers Club conduct their own Silver Strike of the year competition? members are not permitted to vote in your activity unless they belong to the Silver Strikers Club.
