Basically there is a price guide. But as we all know a guide is just that, a guide. Sort of a rough idea as for a starting price if you want to buy or sell anything. A more true guide today is to do a search on ebay and see what any possible sales have been. Making sure to look under the correct category. I you can buy this same strike for $200 but it is listed under Christmas that sort of does not count. I have bought a few $200 strikes from coin dealers for face. That is a nice deal but does not count as for true collector value. Ed has his strike for sale at what I myself think is a fair price for this beautiful strike. Some like your Oscar are very boring and sell for much less in the strike world because either of high mintage or just a boring strike. And a strike with a good theme such as Christmas is very much a cross over collectible. I bought a $200 for the same price a while back from Jim on this board. I thought a fair price and I could use it in my collection.

You may be correct in your thinking that silver will be down to $11 next your. I would like to think you are wrong. If the world goes to he ll in a basket bullion will most assuredly go up. I personally think it will remain around the $15 area until we get a President with some eggs.

Just my silver ounce worth,
Dennis
