I use the white plastic holders for all my trading stock and $300 redemption strikes. I use a black cardboard tray for my collection. They hold about 20-24 per layer, and you can get three layers in each tray.
Depending on the case, figure 60-70 strikes per tray. What I like about the tray storage is that you can put a sheet of Saran Wrap between each layer of strikes. Then they don't slide and they don't scratch. Then I put a label on each tray and stack them.
I always keep the tins I get at Christmas too, there are some real nice thinner ones that are great for storing strikes in. I usually use the tins for my stock that sits in the safe deposit box. Good Luck!
