I use the trays. The white ones work well for the clam-shell and newer air-tites with the white/black rims. The colored trays that George has work well for the older smaller cases.
I have used the books for my baseball card collection and find them hard to store and not much fun to use for looking at the collection. Here are some links to display cases to give you ideas for displaying your strikes:

You might even want to check with your local Frame shop. They might create a display to your specs for a decent price, since they are local and you wouldn't have to pay shipping.
Remember to put a rider on your insurance if you keep them in the house. Some people find the Safe Deposit Box in a bank to be more secure.
