Hi Mike ---- I think your calculation is a good one and it can be used by anyone to put their own values on the reds and blues and come up with a slightly different cost per clear. I take a different approach and calculate the cost of the blues and reds, assuming that I am going to get $10 back for each clear. Using your numbers, my formulas would look like this:
=ROUND((500-10*30)/(2+3),2) = $40 average cost per colored caps,
=ROUND((500-10*30)*40/(40*2+20*3),2) =$57.14 prorated average cost per red cap,
=ROUND((500-10*30)*20/(40*2+20*3),2) = $28.57 prorated average cost per blue cap.
The bottom line is that the cost of winning these tokens is higher than most people think, but look at all the fun we have.
