I must admit that I may be one of these greedy rude people. Although I do not and have not played the strike machines since the vast majority of strikes offered are clad. But let me go to a coin show where strikes are displayed for sale. I will stand right there and examine all of them and buy all that appeal to me. I have purchased many strikes in the last year this way and once I have purchased them they are no longer available for anyone else. Being greedy I will buy multiples of the same strike like the TI Siren or the Luxor Cat(s) or the $20 racehorses from Parairie Meadows and/or others. Back in the day I have purchased a $10 strike and traded it for a $200. I once traded a $10 strike for 2 - $200's. I have visited coin stores from coast to coast looking for silver strikes. I once sold a $10 strike for $1,000. I once paid $700 for a silver strike. I bought 98 non-Nevadas last month sight unseen from a coin store in another state ( I have had this arrangement for more than a year) when silver is $30+ it gets kinda expensive, but I buy all he has accumulated and I do get some jewels. My experience collecting strikes has brought many friends and fond memories. I was a pall bearer at a fellow strikers funeral. I have waited all night to get to a strike machine, once upon a time, casinos would put up lists for you to sign in order to get in line to play the machine. It is rough and tuff out there in the world of strike collecting, strike collecting is not for those that are easily bruised. It takes time, money and dedication. There is no mentor, no one to dry your tears, no one to hold you close and tell you it will be ok. Collecting strikes has sure been a whole lot of fun for me. Thanks George
