Steve, it seems you are intimating that the Republicans are against the working man as demonstrated by the raiding of the SS trust fund. FWIW, please be aware that LBJ initiated the opening of the SS "Trust" Fund for The Viet Nam skirmish. Please also be aware that the trust fund was systematically raided by Congress there after. Because of these political actions, SS and Medicare are not properly funded and will, if left in status quo, soon consume the entire federal budget. I am sure that you are also aware that in the last couple of years the payroll deductions for SS and Medicare were reduced and understand that funds previously planned for these progams were not received and therefore can't be paid. Only one political party attempted to discuss this situation in the last election and they were demonized by the media and the other political party. It is what it is and will be what it will be. When the bucket is empty and China and Japan can no longer be induced to buy our debt, well, blame and revenge will be an empty emotion worth nothing. I hope our financial ship can be righted, but until we are able to have the discussion without blame and politicalization then it will not be righted, and blame and revenge will be bubbles in the ocean of history.
Sincerely,
George Langley
