Mike - Not strange at all, Jim just received the images today but back on 7-12-2012 there was a post about the release dates for the Oct. strikes. It would seem you think everything should be done sooner just for you but it doesn't work that way.
As far as the news letter goes it is plublished every 3 months so look at the date your last one arrived and do the math.
You ccould always email the Newsletter chair person via the club web site and get all the info you need.
Use the club web site and you won''t have to ask the same questions over and over and you then wouldn't have to say nobody wants to help you.
