James, My sincere condolences. You will pursue your own investigation. I would suggest you put a list on this board and check e-bay and craigslist - not just in your locale. Strikes are not understood very well outside our community and a large amount for sale is an anomaly and coin dealers don't usually want to buy a large amount at one time and will call other dealers before making a large purchase ( go and in-person talk to all potential retail buyers of your strikes) the police will not be much help. What is your location? Many or us buy from dealers in different locations (and get the phone call when a large amount are purchased or are available for purchase) and from craigslist - I just saw 17 -$200's for sale in Sheboygan - $500 each, spoke to the owner and decided not to buy. Obviously your best strikes to track would be $200s that are numbered. This also brings back the thought of a $200 strike registry sponsored by the SS club, something Bob Chambers has advocated in the past. Good luck James, don't get down and don't get sad - track 'em, catch 'em, skin 'em, cook 'em and eat'em. -- George L - in Texas SS 648
