My original post regarding the remarkably high auction price of the Blue Cap 454 CLAD was not intended to shed doubt on any eBay Seller's auction practices. I have done business with Scott of EmeraldCity and just as others have commented, I have found that he is a reputable and honest seller. I am sure that there are sellers out there who are not so honest. I apologize to Scott for bringing up this subject and want to congratulate him on a successful and profitable auction. In the past, we, as sellers occasionally get that one or two auctions that really makes our day and as Walt says, it really depends on the bidders and buyers who drives the market. I suppose if I had own a memorable Blue 454 SS car, I would want this strike , regardless of .999 Silver or Clad, and regardless of cost. I have sold strikes in the past with surprising high returns, namely, the Red Cap Maneki Neko(Cat), TI Siren, Wynn's Le Reve, Sam's Town Red 1967 Cobra GT 500 and I would love to have these all back. It is all about timing and what the individual buyer is willing to pay. I personally hope everyone can have plenty of successful auctions just as Scott did. It would keep our hobby of collecting and selling, exciting, lively, and worthwhile. Happy Strikin'.
