Back in the 60s,I bought,& sold Coins,& worked Part time for a Coin Dealer In Phila. The way it was done then & the same for doing Silver Strikes. From a Coin Shop,p/u a small bottle of E-Zest,for about $5 Dollars. I use plastic tongs,& dip the Strike quickly,& rinse immediately. It will look new,but you are not finished,as the dip will eventually stain the brass. Take baking soda,make a mush in you hand,Rub the Brass rim.
It will not hurt the Silver,or clad,& rinse again. Pat dry,don't rub,& make sure it is perfectly dry before putting in a holder. Have done this for many years,& this method does not scratch..
