I received notice from Steve Gilbertson and forwarded all of my correspondence with silver_strikes_australia to Bill Cohenour and Jim Quinn of the SS Club.
Rob, the Aussie, as you have referred to him, refunded all (5) of my purchases from him after confirming my purchases. He asked that I drill holes into the Counterfeits and send photos to him.
The Seller's communications with me, the quick refund and resolution indicate to me that there was no fraud intended.
In my opinion, he is an honest person who was taken by whoever minted these Copies and is doing everything possible to restore his reputation.
Boy, what beautiful copies. I can see how anyone of us could have been easily duped.
Thanks to the great work of Shaun Webster and Joel Slack for bringing this problem to our attention and protecting all of us collectors.
I also started noticing copies of Morgan Dollars with no Copy Markings on eBay selling for $15, so, all Buyers Beware!
I hope all pf the Casinos, eBay, PayPal, USPS, the Feds, and Barack Obama is aware of this potential disaster.
This may be just the tip of the Counterfeit iceberg and I hope it doesn’t destroy our passion and hobby.
