The fixed part of the cost no matter how many are made is going to be the die. I think someone mentioned before that could be up to $400 for a $10 strike, I didn't ask if that was per side or for both. Another idea to get the .999 back on and to have a solid silver would be to keep the diameter of the strike the same but make it half as thick. This would look exactly like a solid one pounder from the top and bottom, just be a little thinner. I was looking at some "mock" US coins somebody minted as one half pound tokens today and they looked just like one pound strikes. Maybe this could be the new $300 ????
