Hi Everyone,
My wife and I have been collecting silver strikes for about 15 years or so, and like many of you we keep track of our collection on an Excel spreadsheet. Updating the spreadsheet is a pain in the neck to say the least.
As a computer programmer, I would prefer to have software on my PC that would help me track my collection without having to resort to Excel. I've started writing a program recently that does just that, for my own benefit and amusement while I learn a new programming language (C#). I'm including a screen shot of the way my program looks so far, with just a very few strikes and made-up strike and scrap values. Yes, I realize that the scrap value is showing higher than the collection value - that's what made-up values will do for you! The coin picture is my own scan I made this morning so it's not the best...
I'd like to get your opinions on Excel vs. software vs. any other method you use to track your collection. You know what they say about opinions... everyone's got one. Let's hear yours!
