Have to agree, this strike didn't leave the mint where it was struck bent like your pictures show, there is no way a it bent during the strikng and you have said it wouldn't fit into a case. Was it one that came in a case from the mint ? If it was an early $7 strike it might not have been in a case but one thing for sure if it was an early one with no case it didn't come out of the slot hopper as this would be impossible the machine would have jamed. (I know becasue I have slot machines and any non perfect coin jams the hopper wheel) Also it is possible to bend a stike without leaving any marks.
