Interesting thread on Club Strikes

I found it interesting reading the thread on the SS Club strikes.

The ccgtcc has had very similar issues with the medal sets in silver and bronze that we make every year.

Years ago we used to end up with many left over unsold medallions which we either sold a a huge discount or eventually sold back to the medal manufacturer for a credit against the next years issues.

Over the past several years as a result of our cutting wastes, we now only produce an amount that is equal to those that either pre-order or get the same numbered set every year. We do order a very few un numbered medals as well in case someone new wanted to purchase a set.

Except for those 2 extras, all the silver medals are numbered with the numbering of those pre ordered.

Now, since the ccgtcc has never ordered Strikes before I cant quote those numbers, but I can tell you what it costs to make a Silver Medal each year.

Die Cost - $510
Stamping - $3 each
Numbering - .25 a digit
Die Set up - $75

This year we ordered 35 Silver and 50 Bronze. Because we split the costs of things like the dies and postage against both medals, the costs came out as follows.

Silver Spot = $35.93
Medal costs = $48.12 each

If we would have made ONLY the silver medals they would have cost around $57 each because of the die costs.

Obviously the more you order the lower the price per piece becomes.

We sold out of our silver medals again this year and we really make no profit on them (Less than $2 each).

Hope that helps in your discussions.
