Paul, and all who collect "precious" *** A key word not taken into account in many discussions-- I repeat precious coins, metallic tokens, medallions, etc. "are or should be" aware of various methods of combining metals, which in early years were done to either -(1st) - strengthen the product by alloying it- ie. Sterling - 14K, 10K, (2nd) - extend suppy of product thru dilution with cheaper metals, (3rd) - embelish the item with an extra feature(such as an "addition/coating" of "more" precious metals ie. gold platinum, silver) whilst not reducing original precious metalic content. (4th) - outright deception/trickery to mimick the real thing and clading a **Non-precious** item, no matter the thickness or quality of clad "it's no longer precious".
Years ago--I got a few Brass Alladin tokens.. for me that was it.. I don't care for brass tokens any shape or form, it's just me! Yet I know people who luv em..
I collect * precious items * coins, medallions, tokens and don't condone simulations, fakes, reproductions for the sake of an illusion that it's a necessary substitute.... and we have to yield and go with the program or the program will stop...?
Do I make any sence? I want the real thing... not an adulterated thing for my "hard earned expenditure of Time, Travel, Money & Pride...
So no markings on any Silver Strikes ? "now an oxymoron" cuz there's no silver content. is wrong and not bonafide!!
Pss It dosn't matter whether it is .5oz .6oz .7oz 1.5oz 3oz 12oz & now 6oz they all need mandated fineness I.D.s
