I was the author of that assay some 15 years ago. 6 fire assays were done on each strike tested and the results were all within .005 of eachother. I have not tested any since so I can't speak for newer issues. I presently have some 75 to 80 from that era posted on ebay. What doesn't sell will be melted and refined next week. If anyone is interested I can post the Metal in .9999 fine silver out totals. Just as an aside until the plumb gold laws were passed anything 12.7 kt or better could be hallmarked 14 kt. Today items are marked 14 kp the p standing for plumb.
