to be held a day or two before or a day or two after the convention.

In my opinion, many more people would play in the tournament that dont play now if they were already in town for the convention.

I will say it again, the BOD does NOT support competing events during the same dates as our convention. It is even a bigger problem when our own members work with an outside hotel to draw people away from the host hotel like was done last time this came up. Without the support of our membership in staying at the host hotel for the convention, the costs would quickly become unfeasable to hold our convention anymore.

That hurts everyone.

Want to suggest that an event be held in conjunction with the convention, but not on the actual convention dates? ... I dont see a problem.

But if your once again suggesting that a second event be held at the same time as ours, I see it as being in direct conflict with the and I will not support that.

You can call my opinion dumb, but it is what is is, my opinion.
