Can any one verify this info?
It seems that one of the dies for the 4 Millennium strikes weren't quite ready yet, and SAF needed some more strikes for their machine. They weren't allowed to order GDC strikes any longer so the mint made some "temporary strikes" using one old die and the one new die that was ready.
It seems SAF ordered ONE RACK of 50 of each of the four designs. These were placed in the machines on April 20, 2000. On May 4, the last of those strikes were in the machines when the new Millennium strikes were put in play. THATS ONLY 14 DAYS!
I guess that explains why the 1999 G strikes are scarce and it appears they actually are pretty rare. Their current value between $50-100 somewhere is a steal. You better not sell them for scrap hahaha.
