Hi Sarge,
Advantage of PayPal is you can accept it without having to pay a monthly fee. Most credit card companies will charge you a monthly fee plus a per transaction fee plus a discount fee (which is their cut). Typically a credit card company will give you a better rate if your average sale is higher. Based on the prices on your website, I am guessing you will pay 3-5% to a credit card company. You will see teaser rates for 1.9 - 2.9%. Don't believe them, there are add ons that will always raise your real rates. I have been accepting credit cards for almost 30 years with my business, plan on a real rate including your monthly fees of 4-5%.
Another advantage of PayPal is nearly everyone buying on the internet is comfortable paying new vendors with PayPal. Not everyone is as comfortable giving out their credit card info.
Disadvantage is PayPal can be more expensive. What I would do is give PayPal a try, you do not have to make any commitment time wise, and see what it cost you. Most internet stores allow you to use PayPal as a payment gateway, it is seamless into your website if set up correctly.
The seller has the same responsibilities with both, in other words both PayPal and Credit Card will always side for the consumer in a dispute. Credit Card disputes usually run about $10 per dispute, you pay that whether you win or lose. I don't think PayPal charges for a dispute, but I'm sure someone else will know that for sure.
PayPal isn't perfect, but it may be a better option than credit cards until the volume is up on monthly sales.
Good Luck!
