Sarge, here is the results of the x ray test on the outer rim. A mixture of metals to make the rim. Not just the regular brass rings.

No I for sure don't think it should count towards a weight measure of the silver contents. I would say just the Large token along with the 4 inserts.

Worth melting the rims for the silver content. Nope. I would say if you were in the smelting business still a nope unless you had a large pile of misc tokens and not just casino tokens that tested as silver with different metals. It can be separated out but it is a multi step process and is very time consuming along with the actual cost of the furnace running to do all this.

Bottom line, I would stay with the weighs total of 6.4 ounces with a ? since no one has actually broken apart one of the $10 sized tokens and weighed it. We can all weigh the large token so it is just the combined weights of the 4 smaller tokens that is in question.

Always fun to chat about the different tokens as for metal contents, weights, mintage's and so on.
