I have passed every single one of the (non-silver clad pot metal tokens) since their appearance as a slot machine award. . . . . . . . Back to the cage they go after first checking with fellow strikers. They may need them to get the $300 .
As for the colored caps non silver they bring a financial $ boost due to the fact they command a higher trade value and I’m rewarded from my fellow strikers who are redeeming them from me. I do chase the clads colored or clears intensionally if I can use it as a barter for $40 or $300 Silver Award.
I’m a fast advocate of “real silver” bearing strike awards from day one and even voted “for silver” in a casino/mint paper query on the subject at one of the early tournaments at the time of silvers rise in costs.
The history is such that now two types of reward’s exist, there ain’t no changing the fact.
No silver reward for my hard earned wager means no wager placed….at the host casino.
Simple.
No matter how ya spin weather it works or doesn’t work, I’ve got no skin in the clad game.
I’m sure many others feel and have the same level of participation/ lack of participation for these trinkets.
Stay happy my friends
