Back about 10yrs ago the talk among strikers in line for $200s - we guessed in the neighborhood of about 60 to 80
core members really sought out $200s, and the rest went to tourists, "occasional $200 collectors - Me" & few core collectors that wanted several duplicates for resale.
I've seen over the internet and club functions the sale of entire $200 collections of at least 5 to 10 members, for what appears to be various reasons. Be it health, age, $ timing, disenchantment with the hobby due to very limited choices of host casinos offering Strikes. "I Loath Clads" also the lack of the chase - it used to be fun sipping drinks and plunking endless Quarters into the machines with reasonable returns for your efforts.
Now its Not so fun, poor returns, very limited choices, and worthless clads as consolation prizes..
Casinos are holding onto more our cash every where, be it in or out of Nevada.
The past is a memory - I'm just glad I got to enjoy what I perceived as better days---Striking days!
