OWN A PIECE OF GAMING HISTORY / OVER 100 YEARS OLD
Offered Is:
2 piece antique Victorian cuff clips used by gentlemen to hold
removable cuffs to their shirt sleeves. They were also used to
cheat at cards by clipping a card to it & hide it under your coat
sleeve, hence the old term, "card up your sleeve".
These are from "Washburn" and does has multiple patent dates
beginning on March 27, 1894 - Feb. 4, 1896 incised into it.
If only these could talk by those who wore them at card games.
Getting caught with a "card up your sleeve", got you shot on the
spot at the card table
Both pieces are in excellent condition ....
