While your message might have been in jest, before you criticise something, or someone, do some fact finding first. You could start with the over 400 links you'd get on Yahoo by doing a search for "Don Laughlin" and Nevada
http://search.yahoo.com/bin/search?p=%22don+laughlin%22+nevada
Here's a typical example from the hundreds of headers from the Yahoo search:
"In 1987, Don Laughlin funded and built the Laughlin Bridge at a cost of $3.5 million. He donated the bridge to the states of Nevada and Arizona. ... "
Putting a true Nevada historical figure on a silver strike is much more preferable to some of the generic designs, like cards, dice, and so on.
If anything, a Don Laughlin strike belongs in the Hall of Fame for commemorating the person credited with founding and promoting the city of Laughlin. Selecting strikes mostly based on high catalog value seems to be missing the point.
