This is so cool... when we lived in California back in 2005 we had the pleasure of watching the whole event occur as well... from mom scoping out the tree, to building the nest, the eggs, the chasing away of the gardeners, the birth, and finally leaving the nest! We had a scare because after they were born we had not seen the mom for quite sometime and were concerned... so we called a hummingbird professional and she told us when to watch for her... so we planted a chair, grabbed a BIG cup of jo and at the prescribed time there she was... awesome! What wonderful creatures these are! God is good!
