Jerry,
I know the situation with your wife and it saddens me that she is in this condition. However I think since you have such a great opinion of how other people should or should not do things. You being a retired person I think you could find & give some time to the club to get things the way you feel they should be done. Taking the 2nd vice-presidents position would give you your chance.

Knowing the fine person your wife is. I do not believe she would mind you giving a few hours a month to the club. Especially since a lot can be done from home so you wouldn't have to leave her in need.
