My name is Kitty Stoops. I live in Tucson Arizona and I am a candidate running for the position of 2nd Vice President of the Silver Strikers Chapter. I am a member of the Casino Chips & Gaming Tokens Collectors Club (CC>CC), the Silver Strikers Chapter, and the Southern Nevada Chapter of the CC>CC. I am also the editor of the Southern Nevada Chapter's newsletter. I have been collecting silver strikes since 2001 and although I prefer strikes from the Nevada area I do have quite a few from Colorado and Mississippi as well.

The 2nd Vice President's main concern is the organization of the convention. He or she must arrange for the Chapter's meeting rooms that will be used for seminars during the convention, a membership table must be made available, arrangements for the food has to be accomplished, and he or she must also contact casinos about special strikes or promotions for the convention.

With regard to my qualifications for the position of the 2nd Vice President, I recently took early retirement from the Eller College of Business at the University of Arizona in Tucson. As Program Coordinator of the Executive Education Program, I managed multiple programs and activities. My responsibilities consisted of requesting bids from resort hotels for each program, being in charge of meeting room arrangements for the College's programs, menu planning, Audio Visual equipment rental, and lodging reservations for guest speakers. I was also in charge of the many workshops, meetings, seminars, and conferences that were scheduled with the program faculty and the constituents.

I am helping Jill Bitner at the present time by trying to obtain donated items from casinos in the Tucson area. Any and all items donated will be auctioned off on the final day of the 11th Annual CC>CC Convention being held in Las Vegas this year. Last week I personally met with the Director of Marketing in each of the Tucson area casinos to ask about donations for the auction and to assure them that all proceeds from the auction will be benefiting the CC>CC International Building Fund.

If I am elected to the position of 2nd Vice President I will work hand in hand with the other officers to increase our membership numbers and to expand the number of casinos that have strike machines, not only in the Nevada area but hopefully throughout the United States as well. I will help to promote the collecting of silver strikes and will serve as the liaison for our members and our Chapter President.
