Interesting comments about "responsibility" to post feedback. One aspect that hasn't been stated is the courtesy that prompt feedback provides to both seller and purchaser. When I buy, which is 99% of the time, a good majority of my purchases are paid via money order and/or personal check if the seller is acquainted with me. The seller's prompt feedback is the indicator to me that the funds have been received on that side of the transaction. Likewise, when I receive a purchase I do post feedback the same day, indicating to the seller that indeed the parcel has been received and the transaction is complete.
E Bay in particular makes this process as simple as it can get by segregating your items into a category and providing a direct link for the posting of feedback. It sure beats trying to find a seller/buyer based on a ton of old email contacts, especially when you have no immediate clue as to the identity based on a "handle". Jackpotauctions, while not as sophisticated in it's format provides a venue from "My Page". Doesn't take a Ph.D. from Wharton, it's as simple as that........
