And I agree with you there Norm.
Having said that ... I don't begrudge club members who are comped at other properties from staying there. It would be foolish of them not to take advantage of what they've earned. However, for those who are NOT playing for hotel stay comps, the club would like those visitors to the convention to stay at the host hotel... even if it cost a few bucks more. The convenience of staying at the host hotel far outweighs the inconvenience of travelling accross town to get back and forth, or to retrieve something one left at a downtown hotel as an example. You are making it sound like Silver Strikers are not permitted to leave the South Point building and are being held hostage in your previous post.
I'm 100% certain that table games players are going to continue to play at their favorite casino after the show closes down each day (or even during the day) ... and so are silver strikers going to play at casinos that have silver strike machines. Spouses who are not collectors might choose to patronize the nearby shopping outlets. Your previous post left the impression that there is nothing for sliver strikers to do at the CC & GTCC Convention being held at South Point. There are several Silver Strike dealers who have tables at South Point whom I'm sure many out of town SS'ers will want to visit. The Silver Strike club will again have their club table on the bourse floor for members and non-members to stop by and say hello and maybe even sign up a new member or two.
Like chip collectors ... after they have concluded their activities at South Point, whether it is attending trade sessions, educational forums, meetings, and wheeeling and dealing, most, if not all attendees will be visiting other attractions at other casinos in town. That includes casinos who have headliner appearances other than what happens to be booked at South Point. That also includes silver strikers who want to visit casinos with silver strike machines. That also includes members who are inclined to visit the many "gentlemen's clubs" in town.
As the famous phrase made popular by Rodney King goes ... "Can't we all get along?"
