More than speculating as to who is monopolizing and manipulating the market, does anyone feel that Slots A Fun is abusing collectors? What possible reason could Slots A Fun have for changing the plating halfway through this issue? To me, it's just a way to stampede us into collecting two quickly. They have planned two more $200 strikes matching their other $10 strikes, also issues of 250. If they do the same thing by plating half and not plating half, the SAF will have placed SEVEN $200 strikes in probably less than one year. There will be six frenzied rushes to get one of the 125.
If Palms issues its Seattle Slew $200 strike in April, as planned, then it will have issued FOUR $200 strikes since September 2002.
John Ascuaga's Nugget has issued two and I'm told by some of the Northern Nevada collectors that they are planning two more for another total of FOUR.
Prior to 2002, there were SEVENTEEN $200 strikes TOTAL for all of Nevada. Four were issued outside Nevada.
Anyone recall the fairy tale about killing the goose that laid the Golden Egg?
I have a complete collection of Nevada $200 strikes, including Caesars Las Vegas #2. I am considering getting out.
