Cohenour's guide doesn't show the value, it shows recent sales. You have to take into account there is a WIDE spectrum of eBay sellers out there, and multiple people can sell the same item and get very different prices. Some say no PayPal, some say no checks, some don't ship international, some don't even ship to Hawaii and Alaska because we are foreign countries. Some take horrible pictures, some give horrible descriptions, some list in a category that doesn't let people find it. There are so many things that a price guide does NOT take into account. Bottom line, it's worth what someone is willing to pay on any given day. I sold that exact same strike two and a half months ago for $950. When everyone drops their prices just because the "guide" says so, that's what kills the values. Then everyone is upset when they try to sell their collection and it's worth half what they paid for it.
Granted the values have dropped some recently, there have been an aweful lot of strikes dumped on the market from people bailing all at the same time, but now you set yourself up to get $700 offers instead of $900 to $1000.
