The short whip version I would not necessaryly call rare. But then "rare" can be a hard thing to define when it pretains to silverstrikes from collector to collector.
Short whip value around $80 - $95 presently. Long whip value around $11 - $14 presently.
I would suggest you remember -- the value is only what a collector or person is willing to pay for somethimg. Against what a seller is willing to sell & take for. If these 2 can not agree on a amount then there is no value at all.
If you are getting more interested in this interesting silver strike collection hobby of ours. May I suggest that you invest in a silver strike catalog(s). About $25 to $35 each depending on which one you decide to get. You will need to decide if you want one with pictures or one with out pictures or both.A good catalog or catalogs will answer most all of your questions. And you can believe me there are a lot to be answered as sliver strikes can look the same but be very different, detailed, and interesting. Small details(like the whip -as a example)can make a lot of difference.
Also ypu can go to the SS Club website: www.silverstrikers.com and look at the club catolog pictures of the different strikes from different casinos. And for other information or information sources.
