Kirk,
I clicked on the link got to it & on the news/articles/blog section no luck in getting anything farther. Was that the wrong thing to click on for the story?

In Louisiana we have 1 of the lowest legal alcohol limits in the country. But what good does this do if the district attorneys & judges reduce or change the charges to something else that is not a DWI charge. The police around here are bragging that they are "CRACKING DOWN" on drunk drivers. That's almost a joke the police bring the drunk drivers in the front door. The court system lets them out the back door in 1 legal way or another.

These "safety" breath interlocks where the car will not start unless you blow into it. With a non alcohol breath is a BIG joke to require to drive. I worked with a person who got a DWI and was required to have 1 of these inter locks. He would get someone else (1 of his kids or a friend??some friend)to blow into it so he could go get his beer fix.

If you are going to drink any kind of alcohol drink DO IT AT HOME ONLY or/and do not drive at all.

As far as I am concerned the penelties are NOT stiff enough. If someone gets caught for DWI ---- IT'S TIME FOR THEM TO WALK where ever they want to go.
