Case in point is this Pioneer, Laughlin (Herz #: 300377) exhibits two tarnish lines from a air exposure while being stored in a cracked air-tite. Looks like it was opened at one point and put back in with a slight rotation, giving two tarnish lines from the one crack.
But my question is, does this render the strike to a near worthless value? Can something be done to restor luster, without also rendering the strike near valueless? In "uncirculated" condition, Herz 2004 guide values this strike at $50+. In this condition, what am I looking at, please?
Thank you,
Jim Follis
