A comedy of errors. The strikes were approved quite a while before they actually got in to the casino. One approved strike, the first football game got a copyright warning from the NFL (????). Then NYNY needed a new contract because thir contract was with Anchor, not IGT. Off to the legal departments for som more time. Then the strikes were ready to go into play.
First, NYNY only added the machine for the sports series, not the patriotics. That machine sat somewhere for who knows why, even though it was ready. Then somehow a couple of racks of just the torch (but no others) got in the cage before they were in play. This created and artificial scarcity. Something similar must have happened with the eagle. I was able to get three torches and five eagles in trade with the cage prior to them going into play. Next, one of our number convinced NYNY to mix the Patriotics with the older Millennium NY series ( Manhattan Express, GO, etc.) just before the November show at Palace Station. That lasted a few days until a player who wanted the NY series got Patriotics and complained, getting Gaming involved and Gaming chastised NYNY and said correctly that what is in the display is in the machine. The casino was now a little gunshy about strikes. The fourth machine sat idle until last week when it was finally installed. I went to play the machine Tuesday but it was out of service, so I traded some more with the cage.
