No matter what anyone thinks of destroying a strike for the silver value, it's simple math. The silver isn't worth as much as any common strike that hasn't been busted up.
These auctions just appear stranger when the person selling them, hasn't got a clue. No clue is often an indication that they want to make a quick sale and didn't take the few seconds needed to see they were losing over $200 on this deal.
What do you think of when you see something like this, outside of sad because the strikes are now broken into scrap silver? Just what I think of when I see someone taking a lowball price from a pawn shop. It's possible that they "found" these or they are hot goods, being turned over fast for cash.
Otherwise I can't understand why someone would destroy the value and sell them for under face value.
