I think you just need to hit the machines at the right time. I went to the Palms and put in a 100 dollar bill and won exactly 10 strikes. The next time I put in 40 and only won one. I do seem to do better on the single line machines over the 3 line machines, but then again if you hit it at the right time it pays off.
