Jerry, where were you when all of this was explained a few weeks ago? I don’t really care for the HSP concept myself either but I now understand where they are coming from. Apparently, the strike collectors are a, relatively, small part of the casinos’ profit on silver strikes. The major part is from tourists that play for and take home a souvenir or two (or more). The tourists will play 75 cents (full coin on a quarter machine) trying to win a "$10" souvenir but are unlikely to play $1.50 per spin to win a "$20" souvenir. Originally, I was a strong proponent of the plan you suggest but I understand now why the casinos probably won’t go to that.
