Re: 2008 Halloween Strikes
In Response To: Re: 2008 Halloween Strikes ()

Hi Craig, First off, I want to thank you for responding not only to me, but the rest of the club members who had different posts for and against the new $200 Palms Halloween Strike. As you have read my post I am sure you can tell I wasn't too impressed with the Palms Halloween $200. What I am going to say and ask, are my feelings only and not of the Silver Strikers Club! First, I would like to know why HSP and not changing the TEN to a TWENTY $ Strike and keeping them .999 Fine Silver, and why aren't they marked HSP so everyone who plays for them knows that they are not .999 Fine Silver as before? You could have raised the $10 to a $20 and kept the strikes the same weight and size and all you had to do was change (3) letters on the brass rim. Second, if the strikes were raised to a $20 Strike and you changed the payout on your Silver Strike Machines and this was approved by the NGC to help your bottom line and in return we would get back our .999 Fine Silver instead of HSP Clad Strikes that retain no value in my eyes, this not only would satisfy a lot of collectors and sellers because they are .999 Fine Silver and we may get back the dedicated club members and collectors who have left our club and this hobby because of these changes. I for one will not collect HSP Strikes or play for them because of their non-bullion value. I started collecting silver strikes because they were .999 Fine Silver, a precious metal that retained it's intrinsic value and not as a souvenir from Las Vegas. On Ebay and Jackpot, you could observe that the HSP Clad Cruise Ship Strikes are not selling at or equal to a .999 Fine Silver Strike. I for one feel that this was a big mistake on the Casino's part, not only because you may have lost not only Silver Strike players, but also collectors, who while at your Casino played the Slot Machines and or Table Games! Hopefully, you and the other Casino's would reconsider these changes and with Silver prices down, go to a $20 Strike and make it .999 Fine Silver.
