My best strike story happened at the Harrah's in KC, MO. I didn't play strike machines much back then, but sat down in front of this one and started to play. After a few bucks, I hit 3 tokens, but instead of 3 coming out, 12 came out and then the machine stopped because the hopper was empty. The attendant came over and filled it back up, closed the door, and it started spitting them out again. 15 or so more came out, and the machine again said that the hopper was empty.

I wasn't really sure how these machines worked at the time, but I was beginning to think that something was wrong and that I wasn't supposed to be getting all of these. I scooped them all up and had them in a couple buckets. Another attendent came over, filled the machine, but it wouldn't pay, still said hopper empty. A more advanced tech came over, pulled out a piece of plastic from the hopper and announced that the machine was broken and I'd have to play a different machine. He then looked at the front of the machine, saw that I was supposed to get 3 tokens, pulled them out of the hopper and gave them to me.
