I don't think anyone is targeting anyone on purpose. Whenever you access the net, there are many, many files stored in the cache on your computer. Everything you do is stored for whatever period it is that your cache is set to store it. The virus you are speaking of searches that cache and uses email addresses it finds there to send itself to. So, if you access the board, then the person with the virus accesses it, their cache will contain the information the virus uses to send itself.
