Re: Grand-Minnesota Question

The Grands issued quite a number of these tokens. A couple of the earlier sets were silver and a couple included a $5 denomination. A minnesota colector said that they were issued as slot promotional prizes. Every ten days, earn x amount of points and they gave you the current token. Extras were for sale at the gift shop.I believe Minnesota issued six sets, four of animals, the Four Winds and Minnesota Landmarks. The Gulf Coasts issued three and there were sets issued in Louisiana, at both Avoyelles and Marksville. The Gulf Caost and Tunica issued Elvis sets. The Elvis set brochure said they were silver with goldplating. The first set in Minnesota was issued in silver and brass, and one Elvis set was also silver and goldplate.
In total, I think there were 17 sets.
