I appreciate all the great info! I'll try 'em out.
I don't usually clean strikes but I acquired one that had an unusual amount of tarnish on the brass part of it, so I took Dave's advise (see below) and used Ketchup on it for about two minutes, washed it off real well put it in the oven at 170 degrees for 15-20 minutes to evaporate the moisture between bimetal area and what do you know it looks brand spankin new! It probably works better that the expensive metal cleaner.

It actually works.
Removing tarnish from bronze with ketchup works!
I tried the ketchup trick, and now my older coins have a gold look instead of that bronze look. I did half of one coin, just to see the difference, and it was like night and day. Didn't do anything to the silver.
I wonder if using catsup works too? (smile)
